Section 22 contracts for our access control officers services annually. These services are paid for with residents' assessments. The current contract is with Wackenhut Corporation. All access control officers have State of Florida Security Licenses and are trained in basic first aid, A.E.D., and CPR. The access control officers man the gatehouse and rove the community in a patrol vehicle.

Residents are issued barcodes for their vehicles. Marina slip holders and employees within Burnt Store Marina are issued window stickers, by Realmark, for express entry through the front gate in the visitor's lane.

The front gate on Burnt Store Road is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All visitors, employees and services should always use the front gate. Trucks will not be allowed in the front gate and must use the construction gate at Vincent Avenue and Matecumbe Key Road. The front gate should always be used in an emergency. All traffic must use the front gate after 6:00 p.m. (8:00 p.m. Daylight Savings Time) as Matecumbe Gate is closed and locked at 6:00 p.m. (8:00 p.m. Daylight Savings Time).

The Matecumbe Gate is currently being used as the construction gate. An access control officer monitors construction traffic between 6:00 a.m., and 6:00 p.m. (8:00 p.m. Daylight Savings Time), 7 days a week.

The Cape Cole Gate is a resident gate for cars only and works with bar codes in BOTH directions from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Absolutely no trucks or trailers are allowed through this gate. Arrangements are made to keep this gate open later for special night time clubhouse activities.

Every effort is made to keep the gates in working order but breakdowns do occur. Please report any gate problems to John Strohm at 239-454-1101. There have been working cameras installed on this gate. Any person/s damaging these gates will be turned over to the Sheriff's Department.
